Had a lovely time up here. We were lucky that we saw a woodpecker, hedgehogs, bats and a whole family of pheasants, plus 3 male and 2 female ducks every day,.
We will be back soon, thanks.
The Munro family.
Lost count of how many times we have stayed here - still magical.
4 Adult and 2 baby hedgehogs almost every night,.
Back home to noisy roads and bright lights. will miss the peace and quiet of Benmore Cottage. thank you.

A wonderful week despite mixed weather. The cottage is so comfortable and well equipped, and the view is stunning. The location is also very convenient for exploring the area.
To add to other's recommendations, take the road north via Altnaharra to Loch Hope - we saw only 3 cars in 40 miles - rather than the 'busier' routes.
Magnificent wild scenery.
Try the Highland hotel for traditional food.
We fed the birds and the hedgehogs, saw two of the latter.

Wonderful 10 days here, Felt very much at home.
We toured the NC500 from here. It was a great central base.
Weather was gorgeous and we enjoyed the beautiful view from the cottage.
Our second visit to this idyllic cottage, which is so wonderful in so many ways.
The perfect place to escape and a place we never want to leave.
We will return many times to this heaven in the highlands.

It was great to explore this area which we have previously only driven through.
We saw 88 bird species between Laxford bridge and Knockan Crag, and Tarbat Ness and Loch Fleet, mostly in good weather!
However, the main objective was to see Pine Martins and have 3 sightings of about 2 seconds, although the peanut butter and jam sandwiches put out to lure them into the garden only served to fatten up the hedgehogs and chaffinches!!

A return visit to this lovely cottage. Even though the weather wasn't the best it didn't spoil our trip , will be back again in the future. XXX

We have had a lovely week,. We found the cottage to be very comfortable.
Local walks are very good, particularly Raven's Rock Gorge and Shin Falls. Gunn's wood also worth a walk.
Very good for birds such as Whinchat and Crossbill.
A trip to Handa Island is also worth doing.
Please feed the birds and the hedgehogs, and please make sure the large water bowl is kept topped up as the Mallard drink a lot!
